With a net worth of $14 million, Bert Kreischer is an American stand-up comedian, actor, host of reality television, writer, producer, and podcaster. Kreischer, famously known as “The Machine,” is recognized for his shirtless stand-up comedy performances. Born Albert Kreischer Jr. on November 3, 1972, in Tampa, Florida, Bert is the son of Al, a real estate attorney, and Gege, who worked in early childhood development. He attended Jesuit High School and later went to Florida State University, where he joined the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and pursued an English major. During his sixth year at FSU, the university was ranked #1 in “The Princeton Review’s” list of America’s top “party schools” for 1997. “Rolling Stone” magazine named him “the top partyer at the Number One Party School in the country,” publishing a six-page article titled “Bert Kreischer: The Undergraduate.” This article piqued the interest of director Oliver Stone, who sought the rights to Kreischer’s story. After the deal didn’t materialize, one of the writers renamed Kreischer as “Van Wilder” in the script, which was then sold to National Lampoon. Consequently, “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder” hit theaters in 2002, starring Ryan Reynolds in the lead role. Bert commented in 2014, “I’ve never seen it. I had nothing to do with it.”

Starting his stand-up comedy journey at the Potbelly’s bar and nightclub in Tallahassee, Bert sent a tape of his performance to agent Jason Steinberg, who thereafter invited him to New York City to watch some stand-up shows. Kreischer then landed a door job at the Boston Comedy Club in Greenwich Village before receiving a sitcom deal from Will Smith’s production company shortly after relocating to NYC.

Bert Kreischer guest-starred on “The Shield” and lent his storytelling to the DVD “National Lampoon Live: New Faces – Volume 2,” with one of his tales being animated for Comedy Central’s “Shorties Watchin’ Shorties.” His film appearances include a role in the 2007 movie “Alpha Mail,” and in 2008, he participated in the reality series parody “Reality Bites Back,” alongside comedians like Amy Schumer and Tiffany Haddish.
