What is Reba McEntire’s net worth?

With a net worth of $95 million, Reba McEntire stands as an iconic American country music singer, songwriter, producer, and actress. To this day, she has sold over 90 million records worldwide. Notably, she starred in her own television show “Reba” from 2001 to 2007 and has released 16 #1 albums, the highest number by any female country artist.

Coming from a rodeo family, McEntire discovered her love for music early in life. Her career began to flourish in 1975 when a performance of the National Anthem at a rodeo caught the interest of a music executive from Mercury Records. Initially, her music was heavily influenced by traditional country, but over time it transitioned to incorporate pop elements, showcasing her artistic versatility. This shift allowed her to reach a broader audience and achieve significant commercial success.

Her achievements are extensive, earning her multiple Grammy Awards, Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, and Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. In addition to her musical career, McEntire’s influence spans television, film, and Broadway, highlighting her diverse talents.

Early Life

Born in 1955 in Kiowa, Oklahoma, Reba McEntire started her performance career in rodeos as a teenager. Initially, she attended Southeastern Oklahoma University with aspirations of becoming an elementary school teacher while performing at local venues. During her sophomore year, she sang the National Anthem at the National Rodeo in Oklahoma City, which led to her discovery by country artist Red Steagall, who was greatly impressed by her singing. Following this, Red brought her to Nashville, Tennessee, in 197, where she recorded a demo tape. After listening to this tape, Reba was offered a contract by Mercury Records.

After returning to school, she completed her degree, graduating in December 1976. Just a month later, she returned to Nashville to work on songs for her debut album. However, her first single underwhelmed, only reaching #88 on the Billboard country chart.

Reba’s self-titled debut solo album was released in August 1977 but did not achieve commercial success. Her second album, “Out of a Dream,” released in 1979, included a cover of Patsy Cline’s “Sweet Dreams,” which became a top 20 hit.

Success

In the early 80s, Reba McEntire experienced a significant breakthrough, successfully crossing over from country to pop with a string of number one hits throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including: “How Blue,” “Somebody Should Leave,” “New Fool at an Old Game,” “I Know How He Feels,” “The Heart Won’t Lie,” “Does He Love You,” “Till You Love Me,” and “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.” By the mid-1980s, almost every album she released achieved multi-platinum status. Her 1993 greatest hits compilation sold over 5 million copies. Even today, McEntire continues to release music and maintain her presence in the industry.

With an astounding 90 awards from various entities and nearly 200 nominations, she holds a distinguished place in the industry. In 1998, McEntire received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording located at 7018 Hollywood Blvd. Additionally, in 2006, she was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame.

Reba’s self-titled television series premiered on the WB network in October 2001, airing a total of 127 episodes across six seasons until its conclusion on The CW in February 2007. For her performance, Reba received a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series–Musical or Comedy.

Since then, Reba has contributed her voice to several projects and made guest appearances on various talent shows and films. In 2023, she portrayed Judge Kim Wheeler in “Reba McEntire’s The Hammer,” and is set to serve as a coach on “The Voice.”

Personal Life

Reba has experienced two marriages. Her first union was with steer wrestling champion Charlie Battles, spanning from 1976 to 1987. In 1989, she married her manager, Narvel Blackstock, but they divorced in 2015. Through her marriage to Narvel, Reba became the stepmother of his three children: Chassida, Shawna, and Brandon. Interestingly, Brandon Blackstock was previously wed to singer Kelly Clarkson. Together with Narvel, Reba had a son named Shelby Blackstock, who is a race car driver. The couple parted ways in October 2015. In 2017, she began dating photographer Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo, but they split in 2019. In addition, they owned an 80-acre farm named Starstruck Farm, located in Gallatin, Tennessee, about 30 minutes northeast of Nashville. This property boasts a 12,800 square-foot lakefront house, a large pool, a pool house, equestrian amenities, and tennis courts.
