What is YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Net Worth?

Known as NBA YoungBoy, YoungBoy Never Broke Again boasts a net worth of $10 million. His rise to fame began between 2015 and 2017 with the release of six independent mixtapes. His popularity surged even further with the hit single “Outside Today” from his debut album titled “Until Death Call My Name.” The year 2019 saw him reach new heights with the successful single “Bandit,” along with the chart-topping album “Al YoungBoy 2.”

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden in 1999 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, YoungBoy Never Broke Again grew up primarily under the care of his maternal grandmother, owing to his father’s lengthy prison term of 55 years. As a young child, he suffered a neck injury from wrestling that necessitated a head brace, leaving him with noticeable scars on his forehead. He dropped out of high school as a teenager and was later incarcerated for robbery, during which time he began writing lyrics at a detention center located in Tallulah, Louisiana. Upon his release, Gaulden found that his grandmother had passed away, leading him to move in with his friend and fellow rapper NBA 3Three, and together they engaged in criminal activities to finance their studio time.

In 2015, he launched his first mixtape, “Life Before Fame.” This was followed by several others, including “Mind of a Menace,” “Before I Go,” and “38 Baby,” the last of which featured artists Stroke Tha Don and Boosie Badazz. Gaulden’s notoriety grew due to his public feud with rapper Scotty Cain, where both exchanged death threats in their songs. His arrest in Austin, Texas, on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder brought him further attention, and while imprisoned in East Baton Rouge Parish, he re-released two earlier mixtapes.

“Al YoungBoy,” “Until Death Call My Name,” and More Mixtapes

After the release of the star-studded video for his track “41,” Gaulden launched a new mixtape titled “Al YoungBoy” in August 2017. It became his most successful project to date, peaking at number 24 on the Billboard 200, and included singles like “Untouchable” and “No Smoke.” His success continued to grow in 2018 when the single “Outside Today” reached number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. Soon after, Gaulden released his debut studio album “Until Death Call My Name,” which peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200.

Also in 2018, he issued a mixtape named “Master the Day of Judgement.” During the summer, he released a series of four EPs, each containing four tracks. He subsequently dropped two more mixtapes: “Decided” and “Realer.” By January 2019, Gaulden had made the list of YouTube’s Top Music Artists, thanks to his consistent, exclusive releases on the platform.

Further Hit Singles and Albums

After enduring a 14-month house arrest during which he was restricted from recording music, Gaulden made his chart comeback in October 2019 with the single “Bandit,” a collaboration with rapper Juice Wrld. The song reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Gaulden’s highest-charting single.

To date, he has made significant strides in his career. Shortly after this, he launched his mixtape “Al YoungBoy 2,” which impressively debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. In its initial week, the album amassed around 144 million on-demand audio streams, marking one of the year’s largest streaming debuts.

Following the success of “Al YoungBoy 2,” Gaulden released another mixtape titled “Still Flexin, Still Steppin.” In April 2020, he unveiled the mixtape “38 Baby 2,” which also topped the Billboard 200, making it his second album to do so. Later in the year, he released yet another chart-topping album, “Top,” featuring singles such as “Kacey Talk,” “All In,” and “My Window.” He then put out the mixtape “Until I Return,” which was initially exclusive to YouTube before being made available on other streaming platforms.

In 2021, Gaulden released “Sincerely, Kentrell,” followed by “The Last Slimeto” in 2022, and three more projects in 2023, which include “I Rest My Case,” “Don’t Try This At Home,” and “Richest Opp.”

Criminal Activity

Gaulden has had a long-standing involvement in criminal activities, both prior to and during his career. One incident occurred in November 2016, when he was arrested in Austin, Texas, after jumping from a vehicle and firing at a group of pedestrians. He faced two counts of attempted first-degree murder as a result. After pleading guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated assault with a firearm, he received a 10-year prison sentence, which was suspended, along with three years of active probation. In early 2018, he faced further legal troubles, being arrested for assault, kidnapping, and weapons offenses, but was released on bail shortly after.

In 2019, while on probation, Gaulden was involved in an incident where he returned fire after being shot at by someone in a black Cadillac Escalade. Although the shooting charges were dismissed, he was found to be in violation of his probation due to his association with Trulondrick Norman and Ben Fields, leading to a sentence of 90 days in jail and a 14-month performance ban while under house arrest. More legal issues arose for Gaulden in September 2020 when he was one of 16 individuals arrested in Baton Rouge for offenses such as drug manufacturing and distribution alongside possessing stolen firearms. The following year, he was arrested again due to a federal warrant, attempting to evade capture by fleeing on foot when federal agents tried to stop his vehicle. In July 2022, he was acquitted of federal firearms charges. By March 2023, the restrictions on his house arrest were lifted, permitting him to have more than three visitors at a time without curfew.

Personal Life

Gaulden has eleven children with nine different women; notably, two of his sons, Kacey and Kayden, made appearances in the music video for his track “Kacey Talk.” In January 2023, he tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Jazlyn Mychelle Hayes, who is the mother of two of his children.

It has been reported that Gaulden intends to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints once his ankle monitor is taken off.

Real Estate

After relocating to Utah, YoungBoy acquired a $5.2 million residence in Salt Lake City. It remains uncertain whether he purchased the home outright or initially rented it from the new owner. Ultimately, he did make the purchase, possibly after a rental period. Though his purchase price hasn’t been disclosed, the transaction was finalized in 2022. In March 2024, he listed the property for sale at $5.9 million. Here’s a video tour:
